Being late for one rehearsal becomes a big mistake for Julie, who ends up being replaced, in a production number, by a dress mannequin. A new student teacher arrives and at first site of Julie, he falls for her and vise versa. But this student teacher isn't all he seems to be. While looking for him, Julie goes into the teacher's lounge only to over hear him telling someone that he can write a sleazy story about the kids at the school because he over-hears Doris talking about using her mother's credit card to buy clothes for the production, then taking them back afterwards.
